Wilson joined by Tunnicliff in hunt for Asian Open
Friday 25 April, 2008
Brit Owen Wilson was accompanied by countryman Miles Tunnicliff in the upper reaches of the leaderboard on day two of the BMW Asian Open in Shanghai, China.
Wilson could only manage a two-over par 74 in his second outing, having registered a first round 68 yesterday (Thursday, April 24th), which was enough to leave him tied for sixth, four shots off leader Robert Jan Derksen of Holland.
Miles Tunnicliff had reached three-under par after 16 holes, positioning him in fourth behind second-placers Darren Clarke, round one leader Peter O'Malley and home favourite Lian Wei Zhang.
Clarke, who shot a three-under par 69, was pleased with his day's work. "The course was very difficult today," he said.
The Northern Ireland man continued: "The breeze was making it difficult to get close to the hole so anything under 70 is a very good score, so I am very pleased."
