GolfOnline is proud to have once again sponsored the European Father and Son Golf Championship in Almeria, Spain. Bringing fathers and sons together on the golf course for an incredible few days of competition and fun.
At the end of last month, teams from across the globe descended upon Valle de Este Golf Resort hoping to become the 2014 victors of the annual event and win a Clicgear 3.5 Golf Trolley from GolfOnline.
A fantastic family-friendly atmosphere was made all the more enjoyable by the gorgeous Spanish weather. With clear skies and temperatures reaching 26 degrees, the competitors had ideal conditions throughout the week.
The three days of play proved to be intense and exciting for the 52 teams, with the defending Champions, the Jenkins, leading both the handicap and scratch championships after the first day.
By Friday the final teams were ready to take on the title, with SkySports cameras rolling and ready to catch all the action. For the second year running team Mills, from England managed to secure a win in Spain, this year claiming the Handicap Championship as they tied the event record at 22-under-130.
In the Scratch Championship, the Radcliffs from America came out on top. Managing to keep their cool on the final day to finish two-strokes ahead of team Mills.
After an incredible finish to another year’s tournament, the European Father and Son Golf Championship is now eagerly looking ahead to 2015.
Scheduled to take place October 26th - 31st of next year, the tournament will be switching venues and playing at the incredible Jack Nicklaus designed Monte Castillo Golf Resort in Cadiz, Spain. Making now the perfect time to sign up and enjoy the game of golf with your son!
