Adam Scott will go Back to his Anchored Putter for The Masters

Adam Scott will go Back to his Anchored Putter for The Masters
Adam Scott has confirmed he will be reverting back to his trusty anchored putter for next week’s Masters Tournament.

With the anchored putter ban set to take effect in 2016 Scott had switched to a traditional putter at last month’s WGC-Cadillac Championship.

After three events using and struggling with the Odyssey White Ice Core #7, the Titleist player has told the Australian Associated Press he will be going back to his Scotty Cameron Futura X long putter for the first major of the season.  The same putter Scott used during his 2013 Masters win.

The 34-year-old hinted at the switch to PGATOUR.COM last week after some practice at Augusta.  Stating at the time, “Putting with a longer putter is maybe the smarter thing to do.  I don’t know.  It’s all about the lag putting.  It’s such a difference in weight of club and stroke and everything.  I’m just trying to figure it all out.”

This will be Scott’s last opportunity to play at The Masters using the anchored putter and it’s obvious the world number six is hungry for his second green jacket.  But will the switch back to comfort be enough for the Australian to win?
