Big Names Give Big Boost to Euro Tour’s Irish Open
Some big names in golf are confirming they’ll be playing in next month’s Irish Open at Royal County Down, all thanks to Rory McIlroy.

When the number one golfer in the world asks you for a favour, there aren’t too many people who’d refuse.  That seems to be the case for the European Tour event set to take place at the end of May.

Hosted by McIlroy’s foundation, the Nike player has gone out of his way to raise the Irish Open’s profile.  Enlisting the help of big time players including Martin Kaymer, Patrick Reed, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood.

Ryder Cup Captain Darren Clarke, who will also be in the field, told reporters earlier this week about McIlroy dedication to the cause.  Stating, “Rory has pulled in a lot of favours and it’s a testament to the high esteem Rory is held that it’s going to be the strongest field for a long time.”

Adding, “It’s a huge positive for the European Tour to have such a tournament on one of the best golf courses in the world.”

With a prize of £1.8 million going to the winner and a field that’s continuing to heat up, it’s going to be one tournament you can’t afford to miss!
