Caddie Escorted from Women’s U.S. Open for Mobile Photos
Veteran caddie Paul Fusco was escorted from the Women’s U.S Open course yesterday for taking mobile photos of course set-up documents ahead of Thursday’s opening round.

Fusco, who has been on the bag for world number 10 Kim Sei-Young since December of last year, was reportedly found in an unauthorised USGA rules area. Reports state the caddie had taken photos of course documents revealing pin placements and specific course details, information that is usually not released to players until the morning of each round.

“I was surprised to hear about it,” Kim told the Golf Channel yesterday. “It’s upsetting.”

Fusco has previously caddied for Vijay Singh and South Korea’s Choi Na-Yeon.

One caddie is quoted as telling GolfChannel.com, “If it’s true, it’s cheating. It’s like knowing the questions before you take a maths or English test.”

It is unclear what the LPGA will do about the situation going further, but Kim will not be penalised for the incident. The 22-year-old has enjoyed a successful rookie season that has included two wins and places her currently second on the official money list.

Kim has already secured herself a replacement caddie for the tournament, Steve Shellard, Se Ri Pak’s caddie as the South Korean golfer is out with injury this week.

With the hoop-la of caddie-gate behind her, will Kim be able to move forward in her bid to capture her first major victory this weekend in Pennsylvania?
