Find Out who Won the Etihad Cross Sport Challenge

Last week three golfers from the Ladies European Tour took on three players from Manchester City Women’s Football Club in the inaugural Etihad Cross Sport Challenge.

The contest between the pros was to help mark Women’s Sport Week in the United Kingdom and hopefully draw attention to female athletes, inspiring a younger generation to get into sports.  LET stars Mel Reid, Carly Booth and Rosie Davies went up against footballers Steph Houghton MBE, Toni Duggan and Karen Bardsley in three challenges.  After two events the teams were tied as they headed into the final round.

“Target” had both teams shooting at a net with different holes worth points.  The golfers used their clubs and golf ball while the footballers kicked it in.  After a close contest it was captain Mel Reid who won it for the golfers.  Hitting a vital 50-point shot just when the LET ladies were in danger of losing it all!
