Golf Analyst Apologises to Tiger Woods for Cheating Insinuation
It has been a difficult week for golf analyst Brandel Chamblee. The former PGA Tour player’s sharp criticism of Tiger Woods in a Golf.com column have led to calls for his firing and threats of legal action from Woods’ agent. Today the 51-year-old took to twitter to formally apologise to the Nike player.

At the heart of the media firestorm that’s brewed over the past week is a story Chamblee wrote giving Woods an “F” for the 2013 season. His grading was based on the number of rule infractions the player of the year was found to have breached.

Chamblee went on to tell a story of how he was caught cheating once at school, leading many to conclude he was in fact labeling Woods a cheat as well. Something the 37-year-old’s agent, Mark Steinberg didn’t take too kindly. Telling ESPN.com last Friday that he would be considering legal action.

"There's nothing you can call a golfer worse than a cheater.  This is the most deplorable thing I have seen,” said Steinberg.

It is unclear what will happen now that Chamblee has admitted the story went too far.
