Golf’s First Day at Rio 2016

It’s been 112 years since golf has been part of the Olympic games. Yesterday 60 men teed-off at the Marapendi Golf Course in Brazil and while the top-four golfers in the world chose to sit it out there was still plenty of action to get us excited about golf at Rio 2016!

Justin Rose’s Ace

How could we not love an Englishman getting the first hole-in-one at the Olympics?!?! Justin Rose is doing his homeland proud down in Rio and the world number 12 can now claim the first ace of golf’s triumphant return to the games. Check out Rose’s incredible shot on the par-3 fourth hole…

Bubba’s Golf Shoes

American Bubba Watson has taken his love for his country to new heights with his impressive choice of footwear. We can practically hear the chants all the way from Rio – U-S-A, U-S-A!!! These incredible high-top G/Fore golf shoes are definitely making a statement and Watson wants to be heard all the way to the podium!

Furry Friends Roaming the Greens

What could be more welcoming when playing in a foreign country then to run into some native wildlife? This week golfers from around the world have been introduced to the Capybara – the largest rodent in the world (according to Wikipedia!). The furry creatures have been described as everything from pigs to giant rats and dogs. One thing’s for sure – they are not concerned with any player’s quest for gold!
