Joost Luiten Wins the Wales Open Despite Iffy Sunday Start
Joost Luiten has secured his fourth European Tour victory, winning Sundays Wales Open at Celtic Manor.

Despite going into the final round with a two-stroke lead, the Dutch golfer nearly threw it away after bogeying the opening two holes.  But Luiten was able to recover on the back nine with three birdies to finish the tournament at 14-under-par.  Scoring a one-shot victory over joint runner-ups Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry.

It was tough, it was hard work down the last, 28-year-old Luiten said afterwards.  I didn't have the start I wanted with two bogeys and I just tried to hang in there and wait for my chances and made some nice birdies at the end and a par down the last was luckily enough.

Also in the field over the weekend were a few members of the European Ryder Cup Team, including Ryder Cup rookie Jamie Donaldson who managed to finish T4.

I'm very pleased, said Donaldson.  Celtic Manor is a tough golf course which doesn't quite suit my eye.  It's been hard for me this week to keep focused and try and see the shots.

But the Welshmen added, Im happy the way I played over the last four or five weeks, building up to the Ryder Cup.  I couldn't have asked for any more, really.
