Lydia Ko Back on Top after Sensational Win in Taiwan

Lydia Ko Back on Top after Sensational Win in Taiwan
18-year-old Lydia Ko proved once again that age is just a number as she soared to her 10th LPGA victory over the weekend at the tour’s Taiwan Championship.

The incredibly talented Ko ended the tournament on Sunday a colossal nine-strokes ahead of her nearest competition.  Not only winning her fifth event of the year but also regaining the number one spot in the Rolex Rankings, pushing South Korea’s Inbee Park down to number two.

Finishing with an astounding 20-under par total, Ko remained the ever calm and present golfer we’ve all come to know.  Telling reporters afterwards her concentration was firmly on winning Sunday, with the boost in ranking an added bonus!

“The winning part is probably the most memorable.  I haven’t really thought about being world No 1 again.  I don’t know how long it’s going to last,” said the Callaway player.

Adding, “I think winning and playing well at an event is the top priority.  And then, you know, if you get the extra bonus with it, it’s even better.”

Besides securing the top-ranking in the world, the New Zealand superstar is now leading the pack in the Race to the CME Globe standings, official prize money list, scoring average and Rolex Player of the Year points.  Not too shabby for her second year as a pro!
