Matt Every Wins First PGA Title After Adam Scott Collapses at Bay Hill
American Matt Every has secured his first ever PGA Tour title with a win yesterday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida.

Adam Scott got off to a marvellous start at Bay Hill on Thursday, carding the lowest score at the course in 30 years. But the Australian, who held the lead throughout the weekend, saw his performance implode on Sunday with five bogeys that left him to finish with a disappointing 76 and third place.

Taking advantage of the absolute collapse of Scott’s game, Every picked up birdies on the 9th, 10th and 12th holes to eventually take the lead on Sunday. A feat the Callaway player has waited a long time for.

“It's hard,” Every said. “It's tough, man. You just never know if it's going to happen. You get there so many times. It's nice to get it done.”

For the 30-year-old Florida native, it couldn’t have come at a better time or at a better course. Telling reporters it was the first PGA Tour Event his went to as a child.

“I kept telling myself, 'Maybe it's going to be somewhere special,'” Every said. “This is really cool.  I still can't believe it.”
