Miguel Angel Jimenez Dances his Way to the Green after Hole-in-One
Miguel Angel Jimenez had a moment of sheer genius at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, scoring an ace on the 15th hole, amidst a not-so-hot first round.
The affable Spaniard seemed to be struggling on the back nine yesterday, with a scorecard that included two bogeys and a double bogey. But cut to the 15th and Jimenez hit one incredible shot that bounced on the green and went right into the hole.
A result the Ping golfer was more than satisfied with as proven by his celebratory dance on the way to collect his ball.
Jimenez starts today’s second round 8-strokes behind the current leader Martin Kaymer after his Thursday even-par 72.
The 51-year-old will now be hoping to up his game in an attempt to catch the lead. But whether or not that’s possible, his performance on the 15th yesterday will surely make for one of the tournament’s biggest talking points this year.
