Tiger Woods Out of Top-100 for First Time Since 1996
Tiger Woods’ career has taken another hit this week as the golfer has fallen outside the top-100 for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The former number one is now ranked 104 after a number of issues finally forced the player to take an extended break from professional golf back in February. Citing at the time his game needed “a lot of work.”

This marked the latest in a string of breaks the 39-year-old has been forced to take over the past twelve months.

Beginning with back surgery last March, Woods then returned to the PGA Tour in late June only to withdraw from the WGC-Bridgestone in early August before announcing he would be taking an extended break to rest and heal his back muscles.

Woods next gave it a go during his World Challenge Tournament in December, where he finished at the bottom of leaderboard, T17 with Hunter Mahan.

2015 didn’t prove to be any kinder to the 14-time major winner. With Woods missing the cut at the Phoenix Open and then withdrawing from the Farmers Insurance Open early last month.

In a message posted on his website in February the Nike golfer stated his recent play was not up to tournament standards and concluded, “when I think I’m ready, I’ll be back [to the Tour].”

Woods still hasn’t announced when he will be fit and ready to return, with many speculating whether he will be up for the Masters next week.  Last year marked the first time the Nike player missed the major at Augusta, will 2015 be the same?
