Titleist Wants to “Take Your Long Game Further” With 816H Hybrids
Earlier this week Titleist Golf unveiled the latest additions to their hybrid range.  Introducing the 816H1 and 816H2 Hybrids, equipment the brand believes offers superior technology for long-game performance.

Combining game-changing technology in two distinctive designs, Titleist hopes these hybrids will alter the view most golfers have regarding this category of club.

“Golfers have long thought of hybrids as ‘rescue clubs’ and not ‘scoring clubs,’ but we intend to change that perception,” explains Titleist’s Vice President of Golf Club Marketing, Chris McGinley.  “More golfers than ever are replacing long irons with hybrids and carrying multiple hybrids in their bags because of their performance benefits.  Our new 816H models are technically advanced scoring clubs that have better shot stopping ability and can improve yardage gaps at the long end of the set.”

McGinley adds, “Instead of thinking about getting out of trouble or just getting the ball close to the green, golfers can now think about hitting the green and stopping the ball closer to the pin more often.”

Featuring an Active Recoil Channel and Ultra Thin Face, the 816H Hybrids deliver more distance as well as increased ball speed throughout the whole of the club face.  This technology combined with a High-MOI design to increase stability and forgiveness help to make the 816H Hybrids amongst the best available to the market today.

“The Active Recoil Channel has revolutionised distance for us across our entire metals line and really pushes us ahead of the pack in the hybrid category,” says Dan Stone, Vice President of Titleist Golf Club R&D.

But Stone is quick to point out it’s not all about distance.  Adding,

“Our R&D philosophy of ‘distance and forgiveness’ ensures that we take the entire shot into consideration, not only how far it goes.  816H provides golfers with complete, consistent performance – the distance to consistently reach the green, the trajectory to stop the ball on the green closer to the hole, and the forgiveness that delivers similar results even when the strike is off centre.  We haven’t made any sacrifices.”

Sporting a larger confidence-inspiring design, the 816H1 is perfect for the player wanting enhanced launch capability with a traditional fairway metal look.  Its impressive head size helps to effectively part the grass through impact equaling better performance from the rough.

The 816H2 features a smaller pear-shaped and compact profile.  Offering more aggressive golfers better launch and trajectory control. Stephanie Luttrell, Director, Titleist metalwood development explains, “H2 is more of our iron-type hybrid.  It has less face progression which visually looks like a slight offset and leads to players attacking it with a more descending iron-type blow.”

Both designs offer the brand’s patented SureFit Tour adjustable hosel and SureFit weight technology allowing for precision customisation in terms of loft and length options.
