Charley Hull is Eyeing her First Major Win at Home

The Ricoh Women’s British Open is turning 40 and heading to Charley Hull’s home club, Woburn Golf Club this July.

Hull, who finished T2 earlier this month at the ANA Inspiration is hoping the home court advantage might just help her snagged her first major title.

“Everyone at Woburn is looking forward to having the Ricoh Women’s British Open back at the Club and obviously I am probably the most excited of everyone!” said Hull.  Adding, “I haven’t actually played too many rounds on the Marquess Course so that won’t give me as much of a home advantage as having so many of my friends and family there to support me.”

Last week the 20 year-old British Number One was joined by Catriona Matthew and Mel Reid to have a look at the Marquess Course ahead of July’s event.  The 2015 champion Inbee Park has also confirmed she will be competing to defend her title this summer.

“Winning the title last year meant so much to me as I had been dreaming about it for so long,” said Park.  “I just wanted to enjoy being the Ricoh Women’s Open Champion before setting new goals.  Now, I have new goals in mind, which include focusing on successfully defending my title and I can’t wait to get to Woburn.”

While this is the tournament’s 10th time at Woburn, it is the first time it will be played on the Marquess course.  We can’t wait to see all the action!
