Difference between Putting lessons on course or indoors

by Maura Hutchinson

In this Q&A with Mark Crossfield he is asked on Twitter “What should I look for taking a putting lesson with a pro? I’m putting great on the practice green but horribly on the course”?.

Mark uses technology like the Sam Putt lab to analyze the putting stroke, then blend that in with an on course lesson. Whilst out on the course he can see how a pupil might put differently depend what it is for, if the putt be for birdie, par bogey or worse.

A lot of golfers don’t realise there putting can change depending what it is for. Some might be really aggressive if it is for par but settle with a safe tap in if the putt is for birdie. Some leave many putts short which fundamentally stops you holeing putts.
