Henrik Stenson Makes History with Race to Dubai Win

by Maura Hutchinson

Sweden’s Henrik Stenson is boasting a pretty incredible year on the golf course.  Not only winning the PGA FedEx Cup but also securing this weekend’s Race to Dubai title, a feat never before achieved by the same golfer in the same year.

Playing with the new TaylorMade SLDR driver, the 37-year-old had a spectacular bogey-free final round.  With six birdies and an eagle on his final hole, Stenson sailed to victory six strokes ahead of England’s Ian Poulter.

An amazing 2013 season has already won Stenson his spot on next year’s Ryder Cup team.  While he is happy with his achievements so far there’s still one obstacle the Swede is anxious to conquer.

“It has been a dream season,” Stenson said after Sunday’s win.  “I don't know how I am going to be able to top this next year but I am going to give my best in the majors and that would be the icing on the cake.”
