Home-Favourite Charley Hull making Great Progress at Ladies European Masters

English number one Charley Hull is making a serious play for the ISPS Handa Ladies European Masters title this week at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club.

The 19-year-old from Kettering got off to a great start during yesterday’s first round, finishing with an impressive 4-under 66, just 2-strokes behind overnight leader Sophie Giquel-Bettan.

Hull is already looking determined to better her first-round performance, with the young golfer quickly climbing the leader board this morning. Opening with birdies on her first and second holes, Hull is on a mission to secure her second professional title, this time at her home-tournament. An undertaking she has been geared up for since earlier this week.

“My game feels in good shape,” Hull told Sky Sports. “This is a strong event for the Ladies European Tour and it would be great to perform well here, which would give me great hopes for next week’s US Open.”

Adding, "It’s great to be back playing in my home tournament. This was one of my first professional events so it brings back great memories and it’s good to be in front of the home crowd with my family coming down.”

The current world number 47 experienced her best finish at the tournament in 2013 when she came in ninth. So will this be the year Hull makes it to the top at Buckinghamshire?
