How to play with the ball above your feet?

by Maura Hutchinson

In this episode Mark Crossfield looks at one of the trickier shot types you will find out on the course “Ball above your feet”.

When the ball is above your feet you need to be aware that it is closer to your body, you can either stand a little further away from the ball or grip down the shaft. The change of shaft angle will make the shot go to the left. Something important is to take this information and add it to your current shot type, so if you hit a draw it will increase the shape as opposed to a fade where the ball will most likely come out straight. It is important to practice these shot regularly as when you are on the range you will only be working on the perfect flat lie.
