Justin Leonard Smashes 1st Hole cup with Awesome Eagle Shot

by Maura Hutchinson

American Justin Leonard got off to a smashing start during the first round of the Players Championship yesterday.

Leonard’s second shot of the day cleared 147-yards coming down straight into the first hole.  Helping the 41-year-old to make eagle as well as break the cup.

Ground staff at TPC Sawgrass took 10 minutes to repair the damage.  Leonard continued a strong first round showing that included four birdies and two bogeys to finish the day at 4-under 68, five-strokes behind the current leader Martin Kaymer.
