Justin Rose Receives Honorary European Tour Lifetime Membership
by Maura Hutchinson
On Tuesday Rose became the 47th recipient of the award, joining the likes of Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy. The Englishman is hopeful he has more successes ahead of him and looks forward to being a worthy beneficiary of such an honour.
“This is really an incredible honour,” he said Tuesday. “For a kid who started his career with 21 missed cuts, I guess this means an awful lot really. And the whole journey could not have been done without all the hard work of The European Tour.”
Rose now has his sights firmly on the next challenge, the Race to Dubai.
“At the beginning of the year, you can dream of winning it but it really only becomes an option once you have played some good golf. Obviously at this time of year, everybody turns their attentions towards it and this is the last chance.”
