Matt Kuchar Finds Victory After Amazing Chip-In

by Maura Hutchinson

After weeks of almost winning Matt Kuchar has captured his 7th PGA Tour title with victory at this past weekend’s RBC Heritage.

A sensational final round of 64 helped the 35-year-old to narrowly edged out Luke Donald, beating the Englishman by one stroke on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Kuchar stormed into Sunday’s round carding 7 birdies in the first 10 holes.  A slip on the 17th, where the golfer 3-putted for bogey, was soon overshadowed by the amazing chip-in he made on the 18th.

“I heard the crowd go crazy,” Kuchar said afterwards.  “Then I went crazy.”

The win has given Kuchar his first top-spot since last June’s Memorial Tournament and a sizeable purse worth over $1 million USD.
