Mercedes-Benz Unveils the Ultimate Dream with their Vision Golf Cart

by Maura Hutchinson

It might only be at the concept stage, but we’re sure there are quite a few golfers hoping Mercedes-Benz will transform their Vision Golf Cart from the sketch stage to the course.

Last week at Muirfield the German automotive company introduced their plans for the ultimate in golfing luxury. A two-seater, solar powered golf cart equipped with a state-of-the-art media system, iPad docking station, optional lightweight doors and a “fore” button (cool enough to contend with Siri). The cart even features the company’s “AIRSCARF” technology, ensuring your neck and shoulders are wrapped in warm air for those chillier days on the course.

The brainchild of head designer, Gordon Wagener, the Vision Golf Cart takes the supreme class associated with Mercedes-Benz and combines it with the creative concepts of golf and car enthusiasts from around the world.

“I was very inspired by the idea of designing a golf cart, giving it a new shape and new sorts of meaning. Why not treating a golf cart like a car, and making it a 'Golf Car,'” said Wagener. The results are mesmerizing, and unmistakably Mercedes-Benz. With the ability to run on normal roads, the Vision Cart seems like a no-brainer for Mercedes-Benz to add on to the production line. But that’s only our opinion!
