Even more remarkable was what the Northern Irishman did next. Throwing his custom Nike RZN Black golf ball into the cheering crowd. Lee Horner from Leeds was the lucky recipient of the major memorabilia, but not for long.
Shortly after McIlroy threw the ball Green Jacket Auctioneers in America took to Twitter, offering up $10,000 for it.
With the help of social media Green Jacket found Horner and now have the ball, stamped “RORS.” It looks like Horner didn’t agree to the $10,000 and is hoping it will go for far more.
Who caught that ball Rory McIlroy threw after holing out on 18? We'll pay $10,000 for it

Until the 9th of August the ball is available to bid on through the Green Jacket website. As of this morning the offer is up to $6,114! Depending on the deal Horner made we’re pretty certain he hopes that will more than double in the next 9 days.
