Bold statements are being made by TaylorMade execs and designers regarding this latest technology, with the company’s Executive Vice President of Product Development, Sean Toulon, saying it’s the biggest advancement in golf equipment since woods became “metal woods.”
Relying on a 2011 study that found the average replacement cycle for irons among core golfers is 5.5 years TaylorMade set itself the challenge of improving every innovation they’ve pioneered since 2009. The result is the SpeedBlade Golf Irons which when tested against the brand’s Tour Burner travelled almost ten yards further with a 4% higher peak trajectory.
Offering golfers function and support when they need it most, the SpeedBlade successfully increases ball speed, producing high launch, long carry and steep descent. A more compact iron than its predecessor, the RocketBladez, it has already gained heavy support from the pros including U.S. Open champion, Justin Rose.
