Tiger Woods Hoping to Bounce Back from Worst-Ever US Round

As Tiger Woods made his 2014 debut last weekend at the Farmers Insurance Open it appeared the player’s extended break had possibly taken a toll on his game.

After shooting a 79 on Saturday, Woods failed to make the second cut, a highly unusual occurrence for the number 1 player in the world. But Woods seemed determined not to dwell on a bad round at Torrey Pines.

With the 38-year-old firmly looking ahead to the start of today’s Omega Dubai Desert Classic he put last weekend’s performance down to just having a bad round.

“At Torrey it was just one of those rounds that happen from time to time.” Telling reporters yesterday. “I had a couple of bogeys and then it became a train that I couldn’t get off.”

The Nike player will be hoping for better results as he tees off this morning in Dubai with Rory McIlroy and last year’s winner, Stephen Gallacher.
