Woods Falls to His Knees in Pain During Final Round at The Barclays

by Maura Hutchinson

Tiger Woods was in visible agony as he dropped to his knees after his second shot on the 13th hole, during the final round of The Barclays on Sunday.  It was an issue the Nike player has been dealing with since the PGA Championship earlier in the month and just last Wednesday blamed a soft hotel mattress for adding to an already irritable back problem.

Despite the pain and wincing Woods continued to play thru, hoping to secure his sixth tournament win of the season.  But he was unable to make birdie on the last hole, leaving him tied for second, just one-stroke behind the winner, Adam Scott.

Speaking after his round on Sunday Woods told reporters, “I just got off (the course) and I'm not feeling my best right now.”

On Tuesday it was announced the 37-year-old had pulled out of a charity event scheduled for today but it still hasn’t been confirmed whether Woods will be fit enough to play at the second FedExCup Playoff this weekend, the Deutsche Bank Championship, taking place just outside of Boston.
