Rocker Alice Cooper is one in a long list of celebrities preparing to take part in the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic this week.
Cooper, a veteran singer and songwriter with a passion for golf, will compete in the celebrity pro-am that accompanies the main US PGA Tour event.
The 60-year-old will pit his skills against numerous former American footballers and baseballers at the tournament hosted by seven-time major winner Arnold Palmer.
Ahead of the competition, Cooper joked that he had to hide his love of the game while at the height of his career as a rock star.
He said: "I had to be a closet golfer when I started. Because so many - nobody wanted Alice Cooper to play golf. I was the anti-establishment guy.
"So I would have to go out and put a mustache on and go out in Indiana somewhere and find a public course and go play where nobody could see me."
Actor Samuel L Jackson, saxophonist Kenny G and pop singer Justin Timberlake of
Callaway Golf are other high-profile names that regularly compete at celebrity pro-ams.
