Part of the Acushnet Company, Cobra Golf sits alongside such brands as
Titleist,
Scotty Cameron
and Footjoy as one
of the leaders in its niche. Where Titleist focus more on the elite and low
handicap golfers, Cobra cater for the vast majority of golfers; namely those of
use who need some help keeping the ball straight and long. With clubs to suit
most levels of golfer from the mid-low handicap to the high handicap, Cobra also
tailor clubs to lady and senior players.
The new Cobra ZL
Driver uses adjustable flight technology to allow for three separate
settings depending on whether you prefer the club face open, neutral or closed
at address. The head comprises of a titanium body with a carbon fibre crown and
a carbon fibre sole insert. The milled rhombus titanium face gives the club an
extended area with high COR (coefficient of restitution). Basically this means
that a larger area of the clubface will give more distance, which is perfect if
you dont always hit the sweetspot. Paired with an Aldila Voodoo shaft, this
driver is set to be a contender for top driver of 2009/2010.
Described as a get out of jail free card the
Cobra Baffler TWS Utility wood is the new incarnation of the Baffler DWS.
Cobra now utilise TWS (Triple Weighting System) to optimise the MOI (Moment Of
Inertia) and CoG (Centre Of Gravity) placement. The result is a more forgiving
wood than the DWS, with a higher ball flight and better results. As with the
majority of the Cobra range, there are options for the senior and lady golfers.
Having already picked up a Gold Award with Golf Digest magazine, the
Cobra SZ Irons have proved to be an excellent choice for golfers looking for
ultimate forgiveness in an iron. With a full cavity back, strong heel-toe
weighting and a wide sole, these clubs should help you hit the ball far and
straight. For 2009, Cobra have sponsored some fan favourites in Ian Poulter, Camilo
Villegas and Geoff Ogilvy. |
