Wedges have an important role in golf. Whether you are trying to get out of a bunker or trying to tackle your short game, wedges are the tool which defines control. Golf wedges come in different lofts which are aimed to tackle different situations. For example a Pitching Wedge or PW (normally 45°-50°) will give you a higher ball flight when compared to the 9-iron. Gap Wedges (normally 50-54°) and Lob Wedges (normally 58-64°) control the ball when nearer the green. Sand Wedges or SW are usually used in bunkers and are normally lofted between 54-58°. It can be a tricky choice as to the ideal combination of wedge, so here are a couple of options; if your PW is 48 degrees a good combination for three wedges in your bag would be 52°, 56° and 60°. This will give you great distance gapping between wedges, some golfers have a 46° PW and therefore have a 52° and 58° but there are many different combinations and becuase we stock most of the lofts and bounce angles, we can hopefully help you to find that perfect combination.
