Was founded in 1964 by a University of Oregon track athlete, Philip Knight, and his coach Bill Bowerman. They launched their first 'swoosh' training shoe in 1971. Nike soon had a market share of over 50% in the States, and their domination of the sports industry has continued up until this day. They have had some of the biggest global sports stars endorse their brands, with the likes of Michael Jordan (Basketball), Illie Nastase (Tennis) and Ian Botham (Cricket) to name but a few.

Their major breakthrough in the golf industry came when they signed a young Golfer by the name of Tiger Woods. He was signed to initially use their shoes, balls and clothing, but within two years, he also started using their new range of golf equipment. This was a huge boost for the brand, who also have a number of other golfers using their equipment such as Stewart Cink, Paul Casey, Justin Leonard and Michelle Wie.

At GolfOnline we carry all of Nike golf's ranges including clubs, balls, shoes, bags and clothing. Checkout the latest range of NIKE VRS or VR_S golf clubs.

Anthony Kim

Nationality : USA

Despite his professional career spanning back to only 2006, US golfer Anthony Kim has managed to enjoy significant success on the PGA Tour against some of the biggest names in the sporting world to emerge as a worthy competitor.

His last win came at the Shell Houston Open in April 2010, where he managed to hold a three-shot lead over the rest of the field going into the final round at Redstone Golf Club in Texas alongside Bryce Molder.

Although he was still on for victory at the last hole, a miss on a five-foot putt to bogey for a two-under 70 saw him meet Vaughn Taylor in a nail-biting sudden-death play-off round after the Virginia-born professional shot a 68 that day.

Kim - then 24 years old - played the par-four hole close to perfection, while his opponent found two bunkers to allow the youngster to putt from 30-feet for par and claim his third victory on the PGA Tour.

"I'm going to try to come in with the same attitude and hopefully hit some better golf shots. Who knows? I could play better this year and score worse. It's a funny and fickle game," he commented after the win.

Born in Los Angeles, California in 1985, the talented professional went on to attend the University of Oklahoma for three years, which is where his affiliation with the sport began, as he was introduced to his caddie Brodie Flanders.

He received a sponsor's exemption in 2006 after finishing in a tie for second place during his PGA Tour debut at that year's Valero Texas Open and went on to earn his PGA Tour card through the qualifying school for the following season.

Kim established himself in the official world golf rankings in 2007 as a result of four top ten finishes during his debut period, before shooting a final round score of 67 to fly into the top 20 in that year's US Open tournament.

His first win on the tour came at the 2008 Wachovia Championship, where he saw off competition from former British Open champion Ben Curtis by five shots, while also achieving the lowest score in the event's history with a 16-under par 272.

More recently, Kim was plagued by an injury that saw him miss the majority of the 2010 season, as well as a failure to qualify for that year's 2010 Ryder Cup.
