Although golf isn't featured in these Olympics, this news demonstrates the versatility and accuracy of our rangefinders as they will be used extensively throughout one of the most competitive sporting events in the world.

The flagship model, the Nikon 1000AS laser rangefinder, can measure distances up to a staggering 1,000 yards and is aimed at serious golfers for use in practice rounds and when preparing for a tournament. It measures the exact distance to your target and also calculates the distance a shot is playing by factoring in the slope angle.

Select from two measurement modes (Target Priority Switch System): First Target Priority mode displays the range to the nearest target among multiple results obtained with a single measurement — useful when golfing for measuring the distance to a pin on a green with woods in the background. Distant Target Priority mode displays the range to the farthest target among multiple results obtained with a single measurement — useful when hunting in heavily wooded areas.

The viewfinder features Active Brightness Control which adjusts the brightness of the display depending on the surroundings, so you'll always get a fantastic clear view. When it gets darker an Orange LED is automatically turned, so you can keep golfing until dusk!
