Wilson focus on two brands Wilson Staff and Wilson Golf. Wilson Staff equipment is legendary in the golf industry having been in the sporting goods market since 1914. Wilson Staff signed Gene Sarazen in 1922 when he joined the Wilson Golf equipment advisory staff, and have always had the best players in golf working with them ever since then.
With award winning irons, high-tech drivers, solid wedges and
an entire system to find out what hybrids and long irons you should be using,
Wilson Staff have really brought together the ultimate package this year.
Ranked in the top 10 and winner of last year's Open Golf Championship, Padraig Harrington is Wilson Staff's
top Tour player for 2008. At the moment he is using:
Wilson Staff Pi irons -

Wedges (52° and 60°) - Odyssey
White Hot 2-ball Blade Putter -
Wilson Staff have brought out four main golf irons
sets this year, the Di7, Ci7, Pi7, and Fg59:
Voted joint best iron of the Month by Golf Monthly, the
Wilson Staff Di7
gives superior distance and accuracy than other irons through the implementation
of a number of different technologies. Firstly the shaft diameter is
slightly more than those seen on other irons, much like the popular Fat Shaft
Range. The greater diameter means a greater resistance to twisting (high
moment of inertia) around the shaft's axis meaning a tighter distribution of
shots, especially on miss-hit shots. This high MOI means that less energy
is lost in moving the club head during impact and more energy is transferred to
the ball for optimal distance. The sole has also been widened to get the
CG (Centre of Gravity) lower and further back resulting in a higher and more
accurate shot. We have a large range of
Di7
irons including different shaft lengths to benefit from the high MOI.
It is likely that the
Ci7
and
Pi7 will also be recognised with awards this year. The
Ci7
is a stylish undercut cavity iron that looks like a tour iron but is designed
for the golfer that needs a little bit of help with control and accuracy.
The undercut cavity gives greater head stability with its further back CG, heavy
heel toe weighting, reduced vibrations with new elastomeric paint, and a thin
face giving maximum power.
The
Pi7
is aimed at the more accomplished player with its smaller profile geometry, but
don't take that to mean that it is an unforgiving club! With the same
elastomeric paint as the
Ci7
vibrations are reduced, and the weight taken away from the centre of the club
allows for a stylish cavity back and heel-toe weighting. The
Fi5 is a quality forged iron aimed at the low handicap golfer who
doesn't need and help in controlling the ball. They progress from the
muscle back short irons to cavity back long irons.
The
Spine driver has been developed with one of the most original changes in
head geometry in recent times. Wilson Staff found that altering the crown
of the club and inserting a spine inside the club, they could lower the CG and also
redistribute weight to the perimeter, delivering the first truly
perimeter weighted club. This gives the club the benefit of a reduced spin
rate and higher ball speed. Together with the High MOI design, Wilson use
a high torque UST V2 HMOI Shaft to ensure that the club head is perfectly
complemented.
As used by Padraig Harrington the
Dd6+ drivers offer a more traditional shape titanium driver but with
ETF (Energy Transfer Frame) technology, which provides a max COR area double
that of similar drivers.
Using Wilson Staff's system, you can find out what set up is most beneficial
to your game based on how far and how well you hit your mid and long irons.
They can provide you with the recommended Wilson Fybrids
and
Fairway Woods based on your own
specifications.
The 88 series of putters offers designs both old and new and
everything in between. You can choose classical and understated designs of
the blade putters or go for the larger mallets and high MOI models. We
also have the
Wilson Staff Kirk Currie Designed Putters. These putters come
equipped with a Balance Fit weight kit which allows you to customise your
club according to the conditions and your own preference. The set comes
with three sole plates of different weights, as well as weights which are placed
in the shaft via the butt of the grip.
Wilson Staff has developed a new core for its 3 new golf
balls this year. Using Nano-Tech particles that make the Polybutadene core
softer than ever, the two-piece
Dx2 Ball, the multi-layered
Tx4
Ball and the give you excellent touch around the greens. The
Dx2 is a high performance 2-piece which is 22% softer than last year's
model without sacrificing any distance. As you would expect, the Tx4
provides both awesome distance and great spin characteristics to make it an
all-round ball. The
Px3 Ball has new zero compression core for unbelievable feel
while still providing top distance.
To complete the Wilson Staff Golf Equipment range you
will find Wilson Staff Golf Bags, Wilson Staff Golf Gloves and headgear.
We also have many game improvement clubs from Wilson
Prostaff.
