Welsh professional golfer Sion Bebb was reunited with some of his oldest
golf drivers and
golf putters after enduring a miserable chain of events that he will wish to forget.
On the verge of earning £45,000 in the Alfred Dunhill Championship, Bebb was hit hard in the pocket when he took an 11 with his
golf balls at the final hole of the golf tournament.
Then after flying to another event, he was forced to borrow
golf clubs and
golf shoes after seeing his own lost in transit.
To cap a miserable run of bad luck, he then flew back to Heathrow only to discover that his car had been broken into and more of his
golf equipment had been stolen.
However, the only bit of positive news was that his disappearing clubs had been spotted and that he gained some of his equipment back when they were picked up at the lost-and-found department at Cape Town Airport.
Bebb told Wales Online: "They were there in the corner on their own. No-one knew who they belonged to, my bag tag was missing. At least I brought them home with me after thinking they had been lost forever.
"I had three drivers in the bag and three putters which I have used for a very long time and I was very attached to. They were very difficult to replace and that was the one good thing to emerge this week."
Pablo Martin eventually picked up a one-shot victory over
Nike golf clubs user Charl Schwartzel to win the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
