Nailing your putting game is the best way to get those scores down, so constant practice is of paramount important.

On the PGA Professional blog, Mark Blakemore pointed out that the par of each hole is calculated by the number of strokes to the green plus two putts.

This means that on an 18-hole course, par for putting is 36, he stated.

Mr Blakemore continued: "That means that half of par is putting. That's an interesting way to look at it."

One of the next ways to sharpen up your putting is to hit a few balls indoors whenever you can.

With a metal putting cup, it's easy - just set it down and get shooting for par.

Golfonline.co.uk reviewer Toby Finneran loves it.

"This product I found was very good," he commented. "It was made to a very high standard and I enjoyed using it! I found that it helped me to improve my game dramatically and I would recommend it to anyone, however old they are!"
