World number one
Tiger Woods has said it is "exciting" that he looks to have found some form on the opening round of The Barclays.
The
Nike Victory Red TX Blades user hit a six under par 65 at the Ridgewood Country Club to take a share of the lead with Vaughn Taylor.
It comes as Woods looks to impress US Ryder Cup team captain Corey Pavin in order to secure a wildcard entry for this year's battle with Europe.
The US ace, who hit his lowest round of the year with the 65, said it feels exciting to be making good contact with his golf balls again.
"It's exciting to hit the ball flush like this again. It's something I've been missing all year," he commented.
"I've hit so many shots this week - not this week but this year - that haven't been hit flush enough to get through the wind. But today I was doing it all day."
