Sinking a hole-in-one is something many professionals can only dream of, so for an amateur player to achieve the coveted shot seems unthinkable.
However, one man from South Wales managed to do just that, not once, but twice in the same round at Neath
Golf Club recently.
Barrie Thomas made par on the first hole before bringing out a six-iron at the 157-yard second, but failed to notice it had fallen into the cup until he made his way to the green with his three playing partners, reports the South Wales Evening Post.
His good luck on the second did not fade on the following pins before striking a five-iron at the 170-yard fifth.
"The ball took a couple of hops and went in," he told the news provider. "We all sort of looked at each other. I don't think anyone could believe it. I was a bit numb at this point."
