A teenager has enjoyed an achievement some of the biggest names in the world of
golf have been unable to carry out by sinking a hole-in-one on the prestigious Belfry course.
Young Dan O'Connor from Maesteg, Wales completed the task professionals including current world number one Rory McIlroy and previous leader
Tiger Woods have failed to complete.
The 19-year-old used his driver to cover the 301-yard hole on the Brabazon Course - which had featured in four
Ryder Cup competitions - which is considered one of the most difficult in the world of golf.
"I saw it drop on to the green, but as we were walking closer the ball disappeared and went into the hole. I was just amazed. It was brilliant, the proudest moment of my golfing career," he commented.
A combination of a lake, numerous bunkers and high trees that cover the fairway stood in the way of Mr O'Connor, as he took what could be the shot of his life - after the late Seve Ballesteros became the first ever player to reach the green in a single shot in the 1978 Hennessey Cup.
