With the introduction of the r9 range of
Drivers and
Fairway Woods, and the new incarnation of the Burner Irons, TaylorMade look set to dominate the golf hardware market in 2009.
The R7 range gave thousands of golfers the ability to change the weights in the head of the club to promote different shapes of golf shot using their MWT (Moveable
Weight Technology). The R9 range expands on this concept of “on demand” customisation with the introduction of
Flight Control Technology (FCT).
FCT allows you to easily remove the club head from the shaft using the provided wrench. Removing the head allows you to rotate the shaft to any of 4 different positions, each one changing the angle of the club head in relation to the shaft. This lets you alter the lie angle of the club and the number of degrees open or closed the face is at address.
Combining the
FCT and
MWT allows you to tinker with your driver to your hearts content, until you have found the perfect launch angle and shot shape.
While the R9 range can be used by golfers of all abilities, the Burner 2009 range of products will appeal to the higher handicap players. The
Burner and
Tour Burner drivers, fairway woods and rescue clubs offer supreme distance, great forgiveness and excellent quality, and all at a fraction of the cost of the r9 range.
The new Burner Irons are a “revolution” in Iron design, according to TaylorMade. Each club is designed for a specific purpose – so the long irons are easy to hit high, and are longer than normal - the mid irons are forgiving but still offer good feel and workability – and the short irons are precision tools with pin point accuracy.
