Canadian Women's Open 2013 Touted as the strongest field this year

Canadian Women's Open 2013 Touted as the strongest field this year
At a news conference held on Monday, Canada’s Lorie Kane stated the CN LPGA Canadian Women’s Open, will be the strongest field to play in this year.

“Not maybe.  It will be,” said Kane.  “This field will be the best.”

What makes the LPGA veteran so certain?  A $2 million (U.S.D) purse doesn’t hurt and has been tantalizing enough to confirm six former champions already.  Including Lydia Ko, Suzann Pettersen and Michelle Wie.

The tournament, which takes place August 19-25, will be played at Edmonton's Royal Mayfair Golf Club and boast a field of 156 competitors.

Ko was only 15 years old when she won the tournament last year.  Making her the youngest winner on the LPGA Tour.  The New Zealander will be looking for a similar result when she steps up to the tee at Royal Mayfair in August.
