Monday, 31 October 2011 04:49 PM Sergio Garcia has admitted he briefly considered retiring from golf, such were his struggles over the past two years. In an interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais, the 31-year-old revealed his winless streak was so disheartening he almost gave up altogether. For a while, yes - I thought Id take a long break, six months or a year, but there were still a few things I wanted to do and I couldnt just leave it just like that, he said. Ive always been competitive, even when my head wasnt in a great place. I went out to give it 100 per cent but I couldnt keep it going.
