As the final round of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions gets under way today,
Dustin Johnson will be hoping to break out of the three-way lead he shares with Webb Simpson and Jordan Spieth, to claim the PGA Title for the second consecutive year.
Johnson’s third round performance was impressive, eagling the par-5 ninth hole before carding three birdies on the back nine. Giving the TaylorMade player a 4-under finish for the day and solidifying his place at the top of the leaderboard.
The 29-year-old will now be hoping he can carry that momentum forward as he looks to capture his ninth PGA Tour win.
“I've got to take advantage of the par-fives,” said Johnson after being asked what is needed to secure victory.
“Today, I made a birdie and an eagle but I parred the two on the back nine which is poor for me, especially (after) hitting good drives.”
With a pretty intense field it will be interesting to see if Johnson can pull off another win in Hawaii.
