Jose Maria Olazabal Revisits Ryder Cup Glory

With a stellar Ryder Cup history, the winning 2012 Captain, Jose Maria Olazabal let the emotion get to him during a video released by Nespresso, the Official Coffee Supplier of the 2014 Ryder Cup.

In the first of four short films distributed by the company ahead of the action at Gleneagles, Olazabal is presented with a picture book highlighting his Ryder Cup career.  From his first tournament at Muirfield in 1987 to Team Europe’s incredible victory in Medinah, Illinois two years ago.

“Looking through Nespresso’s picture book it was great re-living those magical moments down the years.  It reminded me just how special and unique the tournament is and I can’t wait for The 2014 Ryder Cup to get started,” said Olazabal.

The 48-year-old is visibly moved when he recognises a picture of himself with the late Seve Ballesteros from Kiawah Island in 1991.  Capturing a moment when Olazabal jumps up onto his fellow Spaniard’s shoulders to see his ball.

“This is one of the best,” the golfer says as he looks down at the image. “Any picture with Seve is special.” The video goes on to showcase Olazabal’s triumph as captain of the last Ryder Cup Team. An experience he calls, “the pinnacle of my golfing career.”
