Ko Confirms She’s Turning Pro via Twitter
Top-ranked amateur Lydia Ko posted a simple message on her twitter account Tuesday along with a video confirming her decision to turn pro at the age of 16.
After having to give up over $1 million USD in potential prize money over the last few years, Ko decided it was finally time to request permission from the LPGA to waive its minimum age requirement. The New Zealander took to social media this week with the help of rugby player Israel Dagg to announce her “monumental decision.
Ko’s expected to play her first professional round at the LPGA’s season-ender in Naples, Florida next month.
