They certainly help in terms of protecting the course., and arguably make the trolley easier to push. Easy to fit slipping over the existing wheel and being held on by cable ties. My only issues are that there initially weren’t enough ties supplied to keep the hedgehog in place on the main wheel. I used some addition ties but even then there is a tendency, especially if there is a lot of mud about, for the hedgehog to try and move off the rim.
They are quite expensive, and with hindsight although more expensive it maybe easier just to change the entire wheel for the winter.
