Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Detour Putter / 35 Inches

The Scotty Cameron Detour 2006 Putter is a unique and innovative design that departed from traditional putter aesthetics and mechanics to offer a new approach to putting alignment and stroke. Introduced in 2006, the Detour putter features a distinctive arcing alignment aid that is designed to encourage a more natural, inside-to-square-to-inside putting stroke. The putter's design is meant to guide the golfer's hands and clubhead along this path, promoting a more consistent and accurate stroke.
The Detour 2006 Putter is constructed with a combination of materials, including a lightweight aluminum body and a heavier stainless steel perimeter, which helps distribute weight around the edges of the putter for increased stability and forgiveness. The unique visual alignment feature, which includes an orange arc on the top of the putter head, is intended to help golfers better visualize and execute the desired stroke path. While the design was unconventional and received mixed reactions, it remains a notable example of Scotty Cameron's willingness to innovate and push the boundaries of putter design. The Detour putter appeals to golfers looking for an alternative approach to improving their putting performance through enhanced alignment and stroke mechanics.
