Was always a steady putter with an orthodox grip and putter (mallet) until about 3 years ago when I developed the involuntary stammer on the follow through. Yes the yips in full flow. Tried many grips and the claw was definitely the best but still had intermittent problems that was ruining golf scores.
Decided to give the broomstick a go and took the plunge and purchased the Odyssey 2 Ball Ten Broomstick. It has taken about 3 weeks to feel comfortable but I can honestly say that this has been a revelation. Hands have largely been removed from the putting stroke and I let the shoulders rock to create the pendulum effect. Accuracy, ball speed and initial alignment has all improved massively. Putts dropping from outside 10 feet is up and my confidence with this is much better.
The only downside is the height of the putter. With standard lengths of 48-50 inches on Callaway broomstick, these are all too long for me. I stand at 5ft 10 so prob need something around 44". Nonetheless this has worked a treat and I can now concentrate on other areas of my game !!
