Jimmy Walker has been a fixture on the Tour circuit since turning pro in 2001. Despite years of tournament experience his first PGA Tour win didn’t come until the end of 2013.
Born in Oklahoma City in 1979 the American played golf for Baylor University before turning pro at the age of 22.
Walker played in PGA Tour events as well as on the Web.com Tour, where he enjoyed wins in 2004 and 2007. But PGA Tour success eluded the golfer until the Frys.com Open in 2013. Here, after 188 starts Walker beat Vijay Singh by 2-strokes. Earning him his first invite to the Masters and securing himself a PGA Tour card until the end of 2016.
Walker was then able to successfully carry the momentum forward winning the Sony Open in Hawaii and the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Giving him an impressive 3 wins in 8 starts. Propelling Walker to his highest-ever World Ranking of 20th and also giving him the lead in the FedEx Cup standings.
