Victory Roundup – A Fairytale Win and a Last Minute Decision

Surprise wins on the both the European and PGA Tours over the weekend lead to some awesome storylines this Monday. Check out all the action from the Super 6 Perth and Pebble Beach and see the latest gear the pros are using to win big in 2018!

Kiradech Aphibarnrat only decided to enter the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth the week before the Match Play Event began. He arrived at the Karrinyup Country Club having not even played a practice round but that didn’t stop the 28-year-old from securing victories over Ben Eccles, Yusaku Miyazato, Sean Crocker and Lucas Herbert before beating James Nitties for the win.

“I feel really happy, really proud of myself. Everyone is saying that I’m the last guy to arrive this week, last guy to get into the top 24 and last guy to stand out here. It’s such a nice week and I’ve been so proud with the way I performed,” Aphibarnrat told reporters after his win.

This marks the Thai golfer’s fourth European Tour title and his second Match Play win. It propels him back into the world’s top-50 and also earns him an invite to the Masters in April. As for the winner’s purse, Aphibarnrat joked that he won’t be seeing much of it,
“Yeah, all I get this week is just the trophy because I think all the prize money, my wife is going to take it from me. That is the reason why she allowed me to come.”

Check out all the equipment Aphibarnrat used to secure his latest victory:

Driver: Callaway GBB Epic Sub Zero
Fairway Wood: Callaway Rogue
Irons: Callaway X Forged; Callaway Apex MB
Wedges: Callaway Mack Daddy Forged; Callaway Mack Daddy 4
Putter: Odyssey Versa #7 WBW
Ball: Callaway Chrome Soft X

Over on the PGA Tour it was the stuff dreams are made of for Ted Porter Jr. After playing on the Web.com Tour last year to regain his PGA Tour card, due to a broken ankle, the 34-year-old held his nerve on Sunday playing against the best of the best in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Grinding it out with world number one Dustin Johnson and ultimately beating Phil Mickelson and Chez Reavie by three-strokes.

“I’m so happy right now to get it done today,” Porter told reporters on Sunday. Adding, “the win here at Pebble is just unbelievable. It’s beautiful.”

Sunday marked the American’s second PGA Tour win, earned him $1 million and an invite to Augusta in April. We’re pretty sure Porter was one happy guy waking this Monday morning.

Here’s a look at his gear from the weekend:
