THE FIRST FAIRWAY WOODS TO OPTIMISE POI FOR STRAIGHTER MISS-HITS
Traditionally, MOI has been the primary metric utilised by manufacturers to improve club stability and forgiveness. Cobra has broken ground as the first company to emphasise the importance of POI, which considers club rotation across all three axes (horizontal, vertical, and diagonal twisting that occurs during off-centre strikes). The OPTM fairway woods are pioneering in optimising both MOI and POI through strategic weight distribution and shaping, effectively minimising gear effects for longer, straighter off-centre shots with significantly tighter dispersion.
RESHAPED FOR FORGIVENESS
To enhance both MOI and POI, the mass within the club is carefully positioned symmetrically across the three essential axes and clustered around the Centre of Gravity (CG) to reduce diagonal resistance to rotation. By employing artificial intelligence-driven simulation tools, Cobra engineers have analysed countless impact locations, enhancing their understanding of gear effects while identifying the optimal placement for mass and movable weights across various models.
TITANIUM CONSTRUCTION WITH TUNGSTEN
This multi-material construction integrates a lightweight 8-1-1 Titanium body and face, combined with a carbon crown to significantly improve weight distribution, resulting in driver-like distance. The utilisation of Titanium over steel introduces additional discretionary weight, allowing for the strategic positioning of 37.5g of Tungsten low and forward in the heel and toe areas, optimising both speed and forgiveness.
FUTUREFIT33 ADJUSTABLE HOSEL
The FutureFit33™ system offers 33 distinct loft and lie settings, optimising your ball flight while minimising mistakes and maximising distance. The loft and lie can be adjusted by +/- 2 degrees in any direction, providing unparalleled fitting customisation, while the ingenious SMARTPAD® design ensures the face angle remains square, regardless of the settings chosen.
ADJUSTABLE WEIGHTING
The OPTM LS fairway is equipped with an adjustable weight system featuring three distinct weights (14g, 11g, 3g) that can be configured in various positions to create neutral, draw, or fade-biased trajectories.
